A comparison with the international market demonstrates that in the frequency converter segment, Mitsubishi Electric is building compact devices with tremendous overload capability that offer optimal performance. The new FR-S 540 is the affordable solution for utilizations between 0.4 and 3.7 kW, whereby it is suitable for simpler applications than the FR-E 540.
The entire 500-series really does speak the same language: from the FR-S 500 and FR-A 540 all the way to the FR-A 540 L, a standardised operating concept is clearly evident, for both the parameters and their significance are identical throughout the 500 series. Specially programmed software is compatible with the entire inverter series, allowing the user to quickly put any of the devices into operation and fine-tune them for the tasks at hand.
Like the FR-S 520 S, this device has a "digital dial" instead of a keypad, simplifying the setting of application parameters. Another advantage: the user is able to limit access to the 12 most important parameters, allowing the device to be put into operation more quickly while eliminating possible sources of errors. Mitsubishi Electric has also ensured the optimal visualisation of the software functions for the FR-S 540 - including power, voltage and torque displays.
When integrating this device into an automation system, an RS 485 serial interface is standard equipment, permitting the networking of up to 32 frequency converters.
If needed the user can also use one of the external control units from our 500 series, to copy parameters for series-wound machines or even larger systems, for example.
As was already the case with the FR-S 520, the transistor power module is also equipped with "automatic torque boost" control.
